When should I take the SAT?

Updated: May 29

Most high school students take the SAT, the ACT, or both during the spring of their junior year or fall of their senior year. We believe that it is too late, because either time is the busiest time of the year. Students are busy in the spring with AP Exam and end of year commitments. They are also busy in the fall with submitting college applications. Therefore, we encourage students to start preparing during the summer before Junior year and take the first SAT in August. It's important to leave enough time to re-take the test if you need to increase your score before applying to college. It is known that those students who are fully committed to prepare in advance tend to get higher score on their SAT or ACT. The SAT exam is offered nationally every year in August, October, November, December, March, May, and June.
